Sports Therapy Clinic
Examination and assessment is carried out during your first session. The session consists of examining the areas surrounding the injury and completing joints, muscles and ligament tests, concluding a diagnosis of your injury. Patients will also receive treatment for the injury at the end of the session.
Dry Needling (DN) is a similar technique to acupuncture which is used to target and treat trigger points and muscular pains.
Kinesiology Taping is used a rehabilitation taping technique which assists with the natural healing process. It also provides support and stability to the muscles and joints. The tapes flexibility doesn’t restrict the body’s mobility.
Patients receive individual exercises to aid with recovery for the injury, exercises may be tailored to the injured area and include surrounding areas to maintain strength throughout the musculoskeletal system.
Up & Running Sports Therapy Clinic was established in November 2012, Shawnika Sergeant graduated from University of Gloucestershire with an Bachelor of Science Honours Degree. During her studying, Shawnika gained a lot of hands on work experience from university placements and getting involved with local clubs in Bristol. Shawnika setup Up & Running Sports Therapy Clinic from her home and the clinic has been growing ever since.
